Your questions are your business.

QUERI is built so that what you search for, what you read, and what you save stays on your computer. Here is how the QUERI desktop application and this website (queri.io) handle data in plain English.

DataWhere it goes
Search queriesSent directly from your computer to DuckDuckGo (with Yahoo as a fallback) or the specific site you chose (such as Wikipedia, arXiv, or YouTube).
AI questions (only when you use AI)Sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a grounded summary; Google Search is used to find source links.
Pages you openFetched directly from the websites themselves, with ad and tracker requests blocked locally before they leave your computer.
History, saved pages, settingsStored only on your computer in your local application folder.
App analytics / telemetryNone. The QUERI desktop app does not phone home with usage telemetry.
Website analytics (queri.io)Vercel Analytics — cookieless, aggregated, and no personal data.

1. No account required

You do not need an account, email address, or sign-in to search, read, or save pages in QUERI. We do not build advertising profiles or sell user data.

2. Local storage on your computer

Your recent queries, saved bookmarks, custom site channels, and reader preferences are saved strictly in your operating system's local application data folder on your device. You can clear your history or saved items inside the app at any time, or delete the application data folder to remove everything permanently.

3. Search engines and AI answers

When you run a web search, QUERI fetches results directly from DuckDuckGo (with Yahoo as an automatic fallback if DuckDuckGo is unreachable) or from the specific channel you select (such as Wikipedia, Semantic Scholar, arXiv, YouTube, or Reddit). When you ask an AI question or open the AI channel, your query is sent to Google's Gemini API with Google Search grounding enabled so QUERI can present a concise answer linked to real source pages.

4. Built-in ad & tracker blocking

When you flip through web results, QUERI blocks known third-party ad networks, tracking pixels, and analytics scripts at the network layer before those requests are made. Cookie-consent popups and newsletter overlays are hidden locally in your reader view.

5. This website (queri.io)

This website does not use tracking cookies, retargeting pixels, or behavioral fingerprinting, which is why you will never see a cookie banner here. We use cookieless Vercel Analytics solely to count aggregate page views and download clicks.
